One thing stood in our way between home and vacation: an 18-hour car ride. Audrey was a real trooper.

Bonding With Dad
Not Quite
What's This Taste Like?
Audrey is starting to be interested in putting things in her mouth. Unfortunately, her motor skills aren't that great just yet, so usually it's me holding something to her mouth so she can taste it. But by accident she stuck her rattle in her mouth yesterday (she was trying to get her fist up there). The second, third and fourth times I think she knew what she was doing.

Future's So Bright
Our friend Kristy invited us out to her family's cottage in Wisconsin last weekend for a day of fun in the sun, boat rides and jet skiing. Audrey seemed to be soothed by the sound of the water and took a great nap in the afternoon so her parents could get in a game of bags and some good old fashioned lounging. Thanks Paukners!!!

Talking to Daddy
Audrey is quite the talker when she is content and happy, so right after or during a feeding she has lots to say. This is a long video. After the first few seconds, you get the idea, but the whole video is pretty precious.

More Fun With Hats
Audrey has a small head, so right now, hats don't fit quite right. Still cute, though.
At her last appt. the doctor prescribed some vitamin supplement for Audrey to get Vitamin D and fluoride since she is breastfed and not getting any formula right now. The vitamins come in a liquid that causes a grayish/purple drool, which then stains our poor little girl's mouth.

Life From a New Angle
Audrey is starting to enjoy sitting on my lap, looking out at the world. But when I first started doing this, I was unsure if the noises she was making were happy noises or unhappy noises, so I grabbed a mirror to help me see what was going on with her face. Taking these photos took some maneuvering. I also had the flash off, which is why they are a little fuzzy.

Awake for Church
For the first couple months of her life, taking Audrey to church was a breeze--she just slept through it. But it was inevitable that one day she would be awake and cry during church. Today was that day, probably the first of many. It actually wasn't too bad or embarrassing. Mike did a great job of being on baby duty--it gave him the perfect excuse to leave the sanctuary and stretch his legs for a bit.

Happy before church.

Happy after church.
Happy before church.
Happy after church.

First Shots
Today Audrey had her first shots--two on each of her thighs and then an oral vaccine. Yes, she cried. Screamed actually. But she recovered fine and doesn't seem traumatized. And I didn't even need the Kleenex the nurse gave me before she did the shots, so I'm not too traumatized either! The doctor said she is doing great--a nice, healthy, growing baby.
She is now 11 lbs. 4 oz. and 23.5 in. long--quite a "tall" 2-month old.
