One of our friends' little boy Braxton stopped by for a visit. What a gentleman! The two took turns driving the bus. Audrey was a bit of a backseat driver.

It's Hot--Time for the Pool

When Audrey first tried out the pool Friday night, she cried, and we were confused. It was not the reaction we were expecting from her. But the next day, we tried it again, this time with more success. Now we're having trouble keeping her out of the pool.

Helly Dolly

What's Audrey been up to lately? Well, plenty, including loving her dolls. Show her a doll, and she will show you a smile and give that baby a kiss and a hug. An affectionate little girl!

After 70 laps around the living room, Mike decided to let Audrey take it to the streets this morning.

Audrey Visits Her Godmom

We took a short trip to Indianapolis this weekend to visit my great friend and Audrey's god-mom, Melissa. The main event: the zoo! The Indianapolis Zoo was a perfect outing for the day. We had great weather, the crowds were manageable, all the animals were out to play, and we actually made it through the whole zoo. Audrey seemed to most enjoy the dolphin show (she clapped and kept saying "whoa!" with the rest of the crowd) and a large bunny rabbit she got to pet.

Audrey started grinning ear to ear when she saw this bunny.

Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo

On Friday Audrey and I visited a local farm zoo to enjoy a finally sunny day after a week of rain and clouds. Audrey enjoyed seeing all the animals, especially the ponies, which she called dogs. I guess from her point of view, I can see the similarity between the ponies and our big dogs.

The zoo also had a playground and park area. It was a fun, cheap afternoon!

Friday Visit With the Kovariks

We had a great visit with our friends the Kovariks on Friday. Janel brought over her two sons--22-month old Noah and 8-week old Nathaniel. Noah gave Audrey the cutest kiss when he saw her, and Audrey was very interested in the baby.


We need to teach Audrey what "gentle" means.

11 Months Old!

Hard to believe, but Audrey is 11 months old today. Doesn't she look "grown up" here?

So what has Audrey been up to? Well right now she is playing in her crib when she should be sleeping. We may have to transition to one nap a day soon. She's also becoming a little mimic, trying to repeat motions and sounds that she sees us doing. This includes waving, which she's become quite good at. Thus starts the phase of making Audrey do "tricks" for our own entertainment. She's a talkative girl, although 99% of what she says makes no sense to us. But she's says uh-oh now, although not very clearly. And if I say "up", she'll repeat it back, only as "puh". She's trying, at least. Her favorite food right now is Mike's shepard's pie (and ice cream). As for walking, she still has a ways to go. In the meantime, she is a speed demon on all fours.
