Happy Birthday Grandma Patti

Audrey and I spent the day in Rochelle visiting with Grandma Patti for her birthday. We all had a great time watching her wiggle to the music on the TV, and Grandpa Kruse discovered that softly blowing on Audrey's face makes her smile. We also got a chance to visit Grandma W. at her work.

Making Friends

Mike and I are lucky to have several friends who have had babies over the past year. Hopefully they will all grow up to play well with each other--making it easier for their folks to get together. Here is Audrey with one of her friends Teya, who is about 6 months. Audrey is not quite yet acknowledging there are other babies around, but I have a feeling these two will soon be bugging us to drop them off at the movies or the mall .

Audrey's Baptism

GREAT DAY TODAY!!!! Audrey's baptism was this Sunday and we were super excited for all the visitors. Things went off without a hitch, and Audrey didn't make a peep during the entire church service. Thanks to everyone who shared the wonderful event with us!!!

Keeping Company

The dogs have been great about being careful around Audrey. When she is playing on a blanket on the floor, they will make sure to walk around the blanket rather than straight on top of it. They also leave her stuffed toys alone (so far). I definitely think they realize she is a treasured part of the family that should be treated with care.

Audrey is Attacked by Elephant

Using the Swing

Audrey is starting to enjoy--well okay, tolerate--the swing. Which means Mommy can make herself breakfast before it's lunchtime.

One Month Dr. Appt.

Audrey had her one month dr. visit today and was awarded a clean bill of health. She has gained nearly 3 lbs. and grown 2 in. since our first visit a month go. Her measurements now are 9 lbs. 13 oz., 22 1/2 in. long, 14 1/2 in. head circumference. Both weight and height are in the upper percentile, head is in lower percentile (but still normal), so Mike's worry about Audrey inheriting his noggin have been unfounded.

While we were waiting in the waiting room, another family with a baby born just a few days ago came in. The baby was tiny! Suddenly made me realize how much Audrey has grown, even if she still looks so small compared to our friends' six-month old. We have so many changes to look forward to over the course of this first year.

Fourth of July and One Month Old

Audrey reached her 1-month milestone this weekend on the Fourth of July. We spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Wetzels, as well as Shawn and Jessica and Audrey's cousins. It gave everyone the perfect opportunity to get a picture of Grandma and Grandpa with their grandkids. Coralling everyone to sit still and look at the camera was no easy feat. Not only did we need to get two feisty 21-month-old boys to sit still, we had to keep reminding Grandpa to look at the camera!

What? Shanoon said grab some toys. When I play with toys this is how many I want. I assume my dauhgter will inherit this characteristic and be equally enthusiastic when it comes to a good time.

A Comparison of Hiccups

Audrey is a hiccuper--that's no news flash. But here's a fun comparison of her hiccuping yesterday to when she was only a couple of days old (which you can view here). She has really changed so much in only a few weeks!

Fun in the Bouncy Seat

Audrey seems to enjoy sitting in her bouncy seat--although she can get bored with it fairly quickly. She is also starting to respond to our voices. I swear that sometimes she will hear Mike's voice when he comes home from work and will get fussy if he doesn't hold her right away.
