BEST WEEKEND EVER!

Shannon and I had just the BEST weekend! We saw a great movie, we ate bomb Mexican food, and we saw all four grandparents. I found Audrey's monkey costume in her closet and thought it would fit her waaaaaaay better this year than it did last year. I was right!!!

Girl Likes Her Shoes

One of Audrey's newer words is shoes, and she just can't get enough of them. A lot of effort has gone into figuring out how to put them on the last couple of weeks. She's still working on it.

Working on Nursery #2

Last weekend I got out the whip, and Mike got to painting. Actually, Mike got to painting on his own initiative once I bought the paint. We have to laugh at our un-creative paint choices--pink for our little girl and now blue for our baby boy. But this blue really stood out to the both of us. It looks great, and now we can get cracking on the rest of putting the room together.

After Mike finished painting he mentioned to me that he will never throw away the paint roller he used--he used it to paints both kids' bedroom, so it is splattered with blue and pink paint. The roller is a sweet reminder of the preparation we put into welcoming home each piece of our family.

Baking With Audrey

Lately when I'm baking (ahem, combining a box mix with eggs and vegetable oil) I bring Audrey into the kitchen with me to help out. So far I've only trusted her with water!

Toddler at Play

As Audrey becomes more of a toddler, how she plays with her toys have changed. She got this bus just before her birthday and liked it enough, but a lot of her playing involved one of us hovering over her making sure she didn't fall. Now she can handle the slide by herself with ease and is doing some pretend driving, complete with the appropriate beep beeps and vroom vrooms.

More Pumpkin Fun

Audrey had her first pumpkin carving experience this afternoon. Well, pumpkin emptying, anyway.

Picking a Pumpkin

Today we headed to the Goebberts Pumpkin Farm in S. Barrington with my sister and brother-in-law. It was crowded, but we had a nice time checking out the animals and pumpkins. Audrey was a total Daddy's girl during our visit, and those two had a nice time feeding the animals.

This picture cracks me up, because look at how excited Mike is!

Best and only picture with the pumpkins--my camera's battery died! Rats.

Hello Third Trimester

Baby and I hit the third trimester this week, and it was like a switch was flipped. Here came the exhaustion, discomfort, back pain and Braxton Hicks contractions! But, we are doing well. We got an A+ at the doctor this week, and I think my body is starting to adjust to this new phase of pregnancy.

The baby continues to be a wiggling machine. For instance, last night he was squirming around from 6 'til midnight. If he took a break at all, it wasn't for more than 15 minutes at a time. Even though some of the movements are starting to be uncomfortable, it still is my favorite part about being pregnany and the only thing I will probably miss once the baby is born.

We can't wait to meet this Action Jackson!

LOL!

To anyone who has received a text from me that reads something like this: kjhan d;oij...
Well, now you know why.

Toddler Attitude

When you are a 16-month old Audrey, this is how you sit in a highchair. I don't think I helped my case at all by taking this picture. She needs little encouragement as it is!

Backyard Fun

With the warmer weather recently, we've been enjoying hanging out in the backyard. Audrey is such a mimic--she loves copying sounds she hears around her. So when she hears the geese flying overhead, she honks with them.

Spying on the neighbors.

Is that a bird or a plane?

Audrey is such a daddy's girl.

A Few of Audrey's Favorite Things (This Week)

Hanging out in her princess castle.

Eating apples--she's got some chompers.

Bags and purses!
She likes wearing them on her arm like Mommy and Grandma.
